OUR FACILITY

If you are thinking about having a beef processed with us, please feel free to make an appointment to come visit our plant. We always welcome visitors.

Before you put your calves in the lot to feed out, you need to think several months ahead and check the schedule for processing. The winter and spring seasons are our busy times of the year. Slaughter dates fill up quickly.

Call us Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have and get you on the schedule. You can also check out our online booking option, allowing you to look through the available times and book yourself. We do not charge a booking fee, but we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee if you fail to show up for your appointment or cancel it less than 48 hours prior.  Timeslots are a high commodity and if we turn others away and then have someone just not show up, well, it's just not very neighborly. Please have the courtesy to call us 48 hours or more before your scheduled appointment if you know you are not going to come.

When bringing in an animal for slaughter, be sure to have it here at your appointment time between 7-8am the morning of slaughter, or call and make arrangements with us. If you are coming from a distance, you are welcome to drop off the evening before your appointment - just let us know you plan to do that and give us an approximate time. If you run into a snag and are running late, just give us a shout and let us know. We are not going to turn you away because you need to be a little late as long as you give notification.

If you are selling shares direct to customers, please have a list of share holders/ owners with their contact information ready to give us.

FAITH.  FAMILY.  FARM.

Here on the farm we like things simple. We have three main tenants that we hold to and it pretty much applies to everything we do.

First of all, our faith is what sustains us. God is the foundation that everything is built upon. Without His guidance and grace, we would be nothing. He has seen us through both feast and famine and we give Him first place in our personal lives and our business.

Second, our family is our greatest earthly treasure. The Lord has blessed us with the best kids anyone could ask for and they have in turn blessed us with 12 grandchildren! It is a privilege to have been able to raise our kids on the farm and teach them a work ethic and respect for the land. Our family is the most important earthly treasure we have and we thank God for them everyday.

Finally, the farm is our legacy. This farm was homesteaded long before statehood and it has been in our family ever since. It is our legacy. It is who we are. The hard work and sacrifices that were made to clear the trees, break the sod, fight off pestilence, and survive the droughts of the dust bowl showed the true grit and determination of our great-grandparents who came to this country from Germany to live in the land of the free. The promise of freedom and the excitement of a life in unsettled territory opened the door for our family and many other to settle what we think became the best state in the Union.

We stand proudly as the 4th, 5th and 6th generations of Sod Busters who still hold onto that country pride as we continue to live off the land and instill those same values in the generations to follow.

CUTS OF MEAT

One of the advantages of having your own beef custom processed is the ability to choose your own cuts of meat. When you schedule an appointment with us, we will send you a link to a Cutting Preferences form so that you can choose which cuts you want, how thick you want them, how many pounds or pieces per package, and more...
